Year 3
Welcome to Year 3!
In Year 3, we put an emphasis on children developing their confidence, resilience as well as building on critical thinking skills in order to enable children to become more independent learners. As children transition from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2, they will learn a range of subjects with a focus on building foundational skills across various areas.
Over the course of the year, children will read and understand more complex texts, exploring a wide range of genres. They will develop their knowledge of numbers up to 1,000, performing more complex addition and subtraction as well as the introduction to multiplication tables 3, 4 and 8 times. They will be enthralled in topics linked to early civilisations, such as the Ancient Egyptians, the Stone Age and the Tudors.
We can’t want to share our successes with you as we go on our learning journey in Year 3 at Woodhouse Primary Academy!
